Product Overview

Offshore environments operate under strict legislation in terms of waste.. In essence: no dumping! It is therefor imperative to appropriately manage, compact and careful store all waste created on board.

The Mil-tek X-Press 200S Offshore Waste Compactor is ideal for offshore environments. Running on as little as 3 bars of pressure, it compacts all forms of general waste by up to 10:1.

The benefits of using an offshore waste compactor are extensive: they are free from hydraulic oil, electrical components and risk of fire. They compact waste by a factor of 10:1 and they simplify the offshore waste management process.

A Mil-tek Offshore Waste Compactor can create bags of waste upwards of 60 kgs in weight. Compacted waste can be tied off using X-Press Wire Ties, which locks in any odours and makes them easy to store.

By compacting your general, food and hazardous waste in an X-Press 200S offshore compactor, you optimize the working environment by creating more space, less mess and better hygiene

Q&A

What are the benefits of a pneumatic waste compactor versus a hydraulic compactor?
Pneumatic compactors use significantly less energy than hydraulic compactors. In addition to low power usage, Mil-tek’s patented ECO-Drive system distributes power based on resistance, so power usage is only dependent upon the volume of waste, further reducing the energy usage. Pneumatic compactors are also more hygienic, and safer for offshore environments.

How suitable are Mil-tek Offshore Waste Compactors for kitchens where food is being prepared?
Perfectly suited. They are pneumatic, so are free from inherent risk of contamination from hydraulic oil. In addition, they are extremely quite (70 dbA), and have a small floor-space footprint of around 66 cm2.

What kind of material can be compacted in a Mil-tek Offshore Waste Compactor?
All kinds of black bag waste including food scrapings and mixed, non-recyclable waste. The key is waste reduction, which the XP200S Compactor will do at a rate of 10:1, simplifying the process of offshore waste storage.

What skills are required to operate a Mil-tek machine?
Mil-tek Waste Compactors are extremely straightforward to use. A qualified Mil-tek technician will train a key staff member so that he or she understands how the machine works and can in turn train other crew members. Mil-tek compactors are designed with safety and simplicity at the forefront.

Compactors in Kitchens & Food Preparation Areas Offshore

The XP200S Waste Compactor is an ideal solution for any size of offshore kitchen. A small footprint of just 66cm2 allows it to be easily installed in cramped locations, and as it is both stainless steel and air-powered, there is no risk of contamination from oil or rust.

Full bags of rubbish can be placed directly into the XP200S Waste Compactor, ensuring odours and fluids remaining inside the drum, maintaining the high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Compactors on Offshore Energy Platforms

Offshore platforms operate in safe, hazard-free working environments where strategic use of space is vital in order to operate safely.

A Mil-tek XP200S Offshore Compactor is ideal for offshore platforms as it carries no risk of oil contamination or electrical fire and has a floor-space footprint of just 66cm2.

Compactors on Commercial & Leisure Shipping

Waste Compactors on commercial ships help minimize the volume of waste as well as freeing up the space needed to store waste. Mil-tek’s offshore waste compactors come in a range of sizes including stainless steel, and free and fixed wagon models.

Depending on the size and scale of the offshore operation, a Mil-tek offshore consultant will help to find the right solution.
